Brining does not change the thaw. A frozen turkey thaws on the same days whether you brine it or not. What changes is the deadline: the bird must be fully thawed when the brine starts, 24 hours before it goes in the oven.
Same days, same dates as every other turkey. Keep the fridge at 40 F or below, on a tray, in its wrapper.

Bought a turkey that comes already brined? It thaws on these same days.
The brine starts 24 hours before the turkey goes in the oven. For a 5 PM Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 26, 2026:

Brine in the fridge the whole time, at 40 F or below. Never longer than two days. Discard the brine after. Start once the bird is thawed.
A brine cannot start before the bird is thawed. Still icy at brine time? Use a shorter brine once it thaws, or skip the brine. A last day cold water rescue leaves no room for a full 24 hour brine.
Finishing a thaw in cold water: Seal the bird in a leak-proof plastic bag. Submerge it in cold tap water. Change the water every 30 minutes. Cook it right after it thaws. Full steps: thawing a turkey in cold water.
USDA's third safe way is the microwave: follow your oven manual for size and timing, and cook the turkey right after it thaws. Never thaw a turkey on the counter. The outside warms up hours before the inside thaws. Bacteria grow in that warm layer.
Tell the calculator your weight and dinner time, and say yes to the brine. It stamps both dates. Or ask in your own words: "16 lb frozen turkey, brine it, dinner Thursday."
